If you're looking for lighting essentials for your model railroad lighting project - or any miniature lighting project for that matter - then you've come to the right place.


Microlumina is a small business that I run out of my garage. It's nothing fancy and I'm not out to make my business look larger than it is. I try to keep things simple. Microlumina started out as a means to get specialized products out to the folks that wanted them. After doing a few presentations at train shows in the local Pittsburgh area I found that people were very interested in the subject of scale model lighting. As I expanded the lighting presentations to venues further from home I found that few hobby stores (if you can find one anymore) carried LED lighting products or had staff that knew how to use them.

Like many folks that operate small businesses out of our homes, we have regular day jobs that provide us with plenty of work to keep us busy (and keep a roof over our heads). Don't worry - that won't keep me from getting your order sent out to you. However, it may keep me from updating this site as often as I would like!

My plan is to add more products to this site in the weeks ahead. I also plan to add some tips and tricks as well as other helpful information in the form of documents or video clips that can be viewed online or downloaded. I'm not a web design guru so bear with. Figuring out this e-commerce software is tough enough!
